IWH Forecasting Dashboard

The objective of the IWH Forecasting Dashboard (ForDas) is to provide a platform for macroeconomic forecasts from various institutions for the German economy. Users of the Dashboard will be able to assess historical and recent forecasts on the one hand and are able to evaluate the forecast performance on the other hand. Furthermore, it allows for direct comparison across forecast institutions.

The web-based interactive tool is unique in the way that it provides both historical and recent forecast data published by various forecasters as well as official data by the German statistical office (Destatis), including both first releases (real-time data) and current values (pseudo real-time data) for the target years. The dashboard includes several forecast institutions and macroeconomic variables and allows to compare the figures directly. Furthermore, the tool allows for forecast error calculations.

The project is partially funded by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. The grant serves the goal of implementing the "Saxony-Anhalt Digital 2030 Strategy".
