The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) were organising a workshop on risk spillover, current challenges for sustainable fiscal policy, and evaluations of pan-European transfers.

The workshop provided a platform to discuss new developments in the field of empirical and applied macroeconomic modelling and aimed at bringing together academic researchers and practitioners.
The Halle Forum on Urban Economic Growth established in 2006 has the aim to bring together original economic and interdisciplinary papers that cast some light on new developments in theoretical and empirical research on economic growth and development in urban environments. The Forum should also give PhD students an opportunity for presenting and discussing their research results.
Die Tagung widmete sich unter anderem Fragen der Produktivitätsentwicklung, der Einkommenskonvergenz, des Gründungsgeschehens und den Forschungsaktivitäten in den Neuen Bundesländern.
Cities all over the world have a very prominent function for generating creativity and economic growth. The institutional conditions for this function differ a lot between nations, not least between Russia and Germany. The Workshop shall promote the exchange of research results on the impact of these differences on the local economy. The main focus is laid on the urban system in Russia.
The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) - Member of the Leibniz Association and the FIRE research centre at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management were organizing a joint Workshop on 'Challenges to Financial Stability' on August 27th and 28th, 2015, held in Halle (Saale). The workshop provided a platform to discuss changes in the regulatory framework of the financial sector, their impact on financial stability, and consequences for the real sector.
