We analyse the impact of the adoption of expected credit loss accounting (IFRS 9) on the timeliness and potential procyclicality of banks' loan loss provisioning using granular loan-level data from the euro area's credit register.
Cities all over the world have a very prominent function for generating creativity and economic growth. The institutional conditions for this function differ a lot between nations, not least between Russia and Germany. The Workshop shall promote the exchange of research results on the impact of these differences on the local economy. The main focus is laid on the urban system in Russia.
This paper proposes a difference-in-differences approach for disentangling a total treatment effect on some outcome into a direct impact as well as an indirect effect operating through a binary intermediate variable – or mediator – within strata defined upon how the mediator reacts to the treatment.
